Because hemp cloth has been used for making traditional shrouds, wearing hemp refers to the last moment in this world for Koreans. On the contrary colorful silk clothes are considered as the standard of wealth, which only the living can long for.
My works are based on this contrast. No one is always aware of breathing- even though everyone breathes. Like this, many facts which are definitely part of us are often neglected in everyday life. If an indicator shows a far-away end-sign in the journey of life, how much differently will I – or you - see the present?
